WHAT IS A BRIDAL PORTRAIT SESSION?
A bridal portrait session is a pre-wedding photoshoot with the bride only. I often take these 2-3 months before the wedding day. The major advantage to having a bridal portrait session is that you get a trial run at your bridal look.
TOP REASON WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER BRIDAL PORTRAITS
The bottom line to why you should consider having a bridal session is TIME! On your wedding day, there will be a lot going on. Time is our most valuable resource and on your wedding day you will want to allocate your time to greet your guests, relax, and enjoy your party! More than just pretty photos a bridal session will allow you to spend more time with your friends and family on your wedding day.
In addition to freeing up limited time, most of my clients opt in for having a bridal session because they envision golden light portraits with epic views. But more often than not, the location they are thinking of is just too far from their ceremony or reception sites. A bridal session allows you the flexibility to create the stunning images you have dreamed of without sacrificing your wedding day timeline.
I NEED A BRIDAL PORTRAIT SESSION! WHAT NOW…?!
For my clients (whether I’m shooting their wedding or just the bridal session), we start by identifying the location and general vibe (sunrise, sunset, midday, mountain top, city vibes, studio…??). I then work with them to craft together a recommended timeline for the shoot. With a date and location secured, is upto the bride to book her styling and floral teams.
Which leads us to the last reason of why you should take bridal portraits! The last HUGE perk is that you get to wear your full wedding look and confirm how your dress moves and how your hair style and makeup holds up throughout the bridal session. You will get the opportunity to test run EVERYTHING and make adjustments if something didn’t hold up or felt uncomfortable (hello wedding shoes!).
